Laughing your ski-socks off might result in a little frostbite on your toes at the annual Altitude Comedy Festival in Mayrhofen this winter. Not that you'll care when you hear the names that have performed here.
Every winter, thousands of snow-seekers head for Mayrhofen - one of Austria's most popular ski resorts. The apres-ski scene here is just as good as the pistes and young holidaymakers opt for this powdery paradise over more expensive resorts in France and Switzerland.
Yet in January (usually), there's even more reason to visit. The Altitude Comedy Festival will surpass its 10 year anniversary in 2017 after 2016 featured the likes of top class comedians Sean Lock, John Bishop and Katherine Ryan. The festival usually spans across a number of days allowing you to experience some live comedy (and a few beers) after a day on the slopes.
We're sure Altitude's next line-up will include some big names so make sure you keep checking for announcements. And pack plenty of socks - you might lose a few pairs with acts like Bish around.
