If you're planning a trip to Hong Kong in October you'll probably need to pack some baggy trousers. After attending the city's annual Wine and Dine Festival, it's pretty likely you're going to leave feeling a bit rounder than when you arrived...
Given Hong Kong's status as one of the world's culinary capitals, any food festival held here is likely to be pretty awesome - and this fest certainly doesn't disappoint. Showcasing world-class chefs and industry experts, expect a mouth-watering array of tasting classes, workshops and demos. If you're looking for some liquid accompaniment then the wine-pairing meals come highly recommended; there are also over 300 booths offering tasters of everything from craft ales to whisky sours. Although there's an emphasis on Cantonese cuisine, the festival is a truly international affair, with over 23 countries being represented.
Located next to the stunning Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival is the perfect addition to any city break. Culinary walking tours are also offered (booking required) so you can explore the city through the eyes of a foodie. If you do come back a few pounds heavier though don't blame us - at least you remembered to pack your baggy trousers right?
