The Prague Beer Festival hits the Czech Republic's capital city this May and is one of the most anticipated events for beer-drinking locals and visiting tourists.
- When? 11th - 27th May 2017
- Where? Letenská pláň, Praha 7, Prague
- Price: 100CZK for all 17 days of the festival
Prague loves its beer as much as a bee loves its honey. The Czech Republic is the world's number one beer drinking nation, with a consumption of 142.6 litres per capita. And what better place to taste some of the sweet stuff than at the Prague Beer Festival? Cheers!
It might not have the hype or reputation of Oktoberfest but you'll still find beer jugs, servers dressed in traditional folk costumes and more than 100 brands of Czech beer at the city's Letná Park. Prague is no stranger to tourists and stag parties so the 17 day festival is sure to be a prime time for party going lager-lovers keen to sample one of the country's most famous exports.
Thousands of visitors will be treated to live music, a weekend after-party and a 'Beer Diversity' tent featuring a number of international options. There'll also be some top chefs, butchers and bakers preparing tasty delicacies and hearty grub to help line the stomach. The festival even has its own currency - the Tolar - to keep queues to a minimum and help things run as smoothly as possible.
If you love the buzz of a beer fest as much as us, Prague's Letná Park will be one honeypot you won't want to miss.
- Get there: Take the tram to Čechův most or Chotkovy sady for a short walk to the festival site.
