Set across three venues - including the local rugby stadium - the Biarritz Big Festival lets you party through the day, evening and night during the surf competition.
We like our festivals like we like our Sunday roasts - big and with lots of flavour. Now in its eighth year - and timed to coincide with the surfing competition - the Biarritz Big Festival is a huge week long music fest with a very broad range of acts.
Past headliners have included veteran French rocker Johnny Halliday, Neil Young, Wutang Clan, Calvin Harris, George Clinton and Placebo - which shows just how eclectic the organisers have been. The main stage is hosted in Aguilera Stadium, the venue for the town's rugby team Biarritz Olympique, and the atmosphere is very rowdy – don't expect people to stay silent during the quiet bits.
The dance strand of the festival - Big Boîte (the big box) takes place at a separate venue and runs every night from 11pm until dawn (seriously hard core partygoers will obviously do both). The third venue for the festival - Big Village - is found on the beach during the day, where bands and DJs provide a soundtrack for all the activities on the water. Sun, sea, sand and rock 'n roll – what more could you possibly want out of a supersized festival?
*We do our very best to verify the dates of our events but please check with the official event provider before booking your flights. We would hate for you to be disappointed!
