From graffiti to death-defying acrobatics, the Biarritz Festival des Arts de la Rue - street arts festival - provides three days of fun and frolics
- When? TBC May 2018
- Where? Various venues, Biarritz
- Price: Free
Musicians, dancers, actors, puppeteers, jugglers and – yes – mime artists take to the streets in May each year as part of the annual Biarritz FAR (Festival des Arts de la Rue) festival.
Billed as a celebration of street art, and with an emphasis on public collaboration, the activities stretch into the evening and take on a carnival atmosphere.
Streets and parks throughout Biarritz become the stages for an array of performers - our favourites are the death defying gymnasts who use the park lampposts to emulate the pole vaunting psychos in the latest Mad Max film. Stunning street art will also be displayed throughout the town and people will get the chance to vote online for their favourite painting.
Bring a whistle, dump your inhibitions and join in the fun.
- Get there: Fly to Biarritz then take a taxi to the town centre. Use public transport to get around the city.
- Stay: Find accommodation in the city centre for easy travel between venues.
