This six day event and festival sees indie and electronic music arrive in Lyon in full force; expect parties, raves and gigs galore.
You'll need to have plenty of energy reserves for Nuit Sonores Indie and Electronic Music Festival. Running for six days, this crowd pumping event is not one for festival newbies - unless you've packed some serious caffeine supplies. Attracting music lovers from France, Europe and beyond, the festival is a top choice for independent music and culture fans.
Held over the six days around Ascension public holiday, this event draws in DJs from around the world. Alongside epic club nights, the Nuit Sonores 'Village' also features an electronic music trail, visual installations and live performances. At six days long, there's plenty of time to explore different events and discover some of Europe's best alternative performers and artists. The festival also has impressive green and sustainable credentials (which always gets brownie points from us).
If you can handle the pace then don't miss out on one of the biggest and boldest festivals on the continent. During the event, accommodation books up quickly in Lyon so plan ahead if you don't want to miss out. Maybe invest in a portable Nespresso machine before you go though; Nuit Sonores needs plenty of party-centric energy.
