Save your cash for the bar and explore Strasbourg's incredible range of museums for free on Museum Night this May.
A few eyebrows might be raised when you get in somewhere for free on a Saturday night, but on Museum Night in the French city of Strasbourg that's exactly what happens. Between 10:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., museum doors open up free of charge to let locals and tourists explore their historic galleries.
Although this annual event is present in many other French cities, Strasbourg is one of the best places to take advantage of free entry with a fantastic number of museums at your disposal. The city embraces the event with music to accompany the endless displays and some spectacular light shows on its age-old buildings. Other activities include public readings, workshops and guided tours which are all popular with tourists. Getting between museums is easy as the city also arranges free shuttles to help you make the most of the short opening hours.
Who ever said nothing in life is free?
