Strasberger Platz is transformed into a mile of beer gardens showcasing both German and international breweries.
- When? 4th - 6th August 2017
- Where? Karl Marx Allee, Berlin
- Price: free admission
Hosted in early August at the Strasberger Platz, this festival features more than 1500 types of beer from 200 different breweries representing over 75 countries. The 2017 edition is expected to be the liveliest yet as the festival heads into it's 20th year.
The event is affectionately known by locals as the ‘Biermeile’ (or Beer Mile) because the booze flows continuously for more than two kilometres. This makes it the longest beer garden in the world, a fact recognised by the Guinness Book of Records in 2011.
Beware the morning after as you'll most likely have an epic hangover after all that drinking.
- Get there: U5 to station Strausberger Platz, Weberwiese or Frankfurter Tor
- Stay: Look at hotels to the east of the city centre to be close to the event venue.
