Head to Rhodes for the Colossus Film Festival in June for a three day film extravaganza, with screenings, talks and more.
Two of our favourite things - films and being al fresco in summer - combine in Rhodes this year with the first Colossus Film Festival. The event spans three days and is great for film buffs as well as those that just want to enjoy a balmy evening outside (and let's face it, who doesn't).
Held in the Rodon Open Air theatre, the festival will show screenings of work by established and emerging filmmakers and directors. The days are split into several sessions and will feature a host of speakers from around the globe while evenings have one off events. The festival will also be handing out awards in several categories in partnership with the Mayoral Office of Rhodes.
As well as watching what could be the next big thing, there will also be discussions, talks and question and answer sessions. Even better is the fact that Colossus Film Festival is held on the sunny Greek island of Rhodes, full of beaches and quaint towns. Suffice to say, this is one event that definitely gets our nomination. After all, popcorn tastes even better outdoors right?
- Get there: Diagoras International Airport is around 25 minutes from Rhodes Town.
- Stay: Find a hotel close to Elli Beach at the tip of the island to be close to the event venue.
