Volleyball is fun but with temperatures soaring above 30 degrees Celsius, it might be more fun to sit in the shade and watch others battle it out. Enter the Nestea Beach Volleyball competition.
Competition is fierce between the 80 or so teams that are split into semi-professional and collegiate leagues. With substantial cash prizes and cheering crowds intensifying the atmosphere, it's hardly surprising that this is the case. Competitors play all over the country for several weeks, ending up on the Boracay Beach Chalets for the semi-finals and finals.
As the sun sinks into the horizon and the winners have been decided, barbecues are fired up whilst live music keeps people jumping up and down on the sand.
After the tournament has ended, the 'Love the Beach' programme organises volunteers to collect hundreds of kilos of trash from the coastline and shallows of Boracay Beach. Don't watch this one from the sidelines, the locals will be sure to thank you.
