Youngsters looking for a fun time in Krakow should look no further than Juwenaliah, a rowdy week of celebrations that sees crowds pile into the city's most popular bars and clubs.
The traditional Juwenaliah holiday has been around for over 50 years and sees students letting loose shortly before the stresses of June exams arrive. Each year, around 27,000 students take over the city during the event, which might be enough to convince some to hide inside their hotel rooms.
Although celebrations vary depending on the district, most towns host a student parade to mark the occasion, where the mayor 'hands over the symbolic keys to the city'.
Heavy drinking and cheeky behaviour is to be expected for those brave enough to tackle Juwenaliah in Krakow, which is one of the larger University towns and therefore a perfect place to get stuck into the celebrations.

- Get there: Use local buses and trams to get back to your hotel after the festivities.
- Stay: If you want to be in the midst of the action stay in the city centre, otherwise opt for something a little further out if you're likely to get fed up of the noise.
