Get your canya ready - the Barcelona Beer Festival is ready to make March a little madder...
- When? TBC March 2017
- Where? La Farga de L’Hospitalet Carrer, Barcelona
- Price: €7 for a ticket, then €1 each for additional tokens. You can only buy beer with festival tokens.
Not immediately known for its beer, the city of Barcelona does enjoy a good pint - or a canya, as the locals call it. That won't stop the Brits from demanding "a pinta birra, por favor".
Held once a year the Barcelona Beer Festival will see brewers from all over the world meet at the festival to present their craft beers.
Entrance is free, but you have to pay for the beer and grub, obviously.
In 2015, at the seafront Maritime Museum, over 300 beers were available to sample. Activities included tastings, lectures and something called 'Beerstorming' - where attendees propose possible food and music pairings for the different beers served. The best beer-music-food suggestions get put into practice for real at the end of the session. Awesome...
- Get there: Fly into Barcelona–El Prat Airport then take the aerobus to the city centre.
- Stay: Find a hotel in the L'Hospitalet de Llobregat area so you can easily walk back to your hotel.
