As Christmas edges closer, Stockholm's open-air museum and zoo Skansen gets into the festive spirit, hosting one of Sweden's biggest weekend markets.
As Christmas edges closer (or you're just super excited), Stockholm's open-air museum and zoo Skansen - just outside of Stockholm - gets into the festive spirit, hosting one of Sweden's biggest weekend markets that dates back to 1903.
Traditional hot food, mulled wine and sweets helps keep market-goers warm, and Swedish gifts and souvenirs are on offer for tourists scanning the seemingly endless rows of market stalls. If you're feeling tired from exploring, take seat, sip your cup of glögg and listen to the market's carol singers.
The event is located in the historical 'village' of Skansen, which showcases traditional Swedish life. Skansen Christmas Market runs from 10am to 4pm daily for several weekends throughout December and is certainly not an event to miss if you're keen to get hyped for Christmas in Stockholm.
