The five-day Paleo Festival is the biggest music event in Switzerland with over 280,000 visitors enjoying its al fresco Rock 'n' Roll.
Paleo is Switzerland's answer to Glastonbury, a massive music festival set in fields outside the town of Nyon, about 20 minutes' drive from Geneva.
Like Glastonbury, Paleo attracts A-list acts, but this festival is a little more sedate and comfortable than you may expect. You can view the main stage seated high up in a grandstand, while all the food stalls have tables, chairs and condiments to allow you to eat in comfort.
But with over 280,000 visitors attending the festival, it remains one of the biggest music events in Europe.
In 2016 it was the festival's 40th birthday - it started in 1976 as the Nyon Folk Festival - and over those 4 decades the festival has attracted some massive headliners including Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Neil Young, The Who, R.E.M. and the Pixies.
All this and you can still eat your sausage and chips sitting down with a knife and fork, and get home to Geneva in a jiffy if it rains. Very civilised rock and roll, and utterly Swiss.
