If you love motorbikes, ride on down to the Phuket Bike Week to see the latest models and exhibitions while enjoying an afternoon of entertainment.
It's fair to say that Asia is well known for its bikes and Phuket is no different. Yet, this event isn't about that Honda scooter that you've rented for a fiver a day. Phuket Bike Week gives you the chance to see some classic motorbikes, which certainly cost a tad more than the ones you'll be hiring from the local bike rental shop.
Held every year in April (2018 will be the 24th year), the events of Phuket Bike Week mainly take place in Patong and the festival proudly dubs itself 'the best motorcycle event in Asia'. Motorbike enthusiasts look forward to the custom bike show and the motorcycle exhibition where the likes of Harley Davidsons can be viewed.
Celebrations aren't limited to one type though; there are a number of other events such as the Miss Phuket Bike Week competition, various concerts and even a beach party if you get bored of looking at wheels. The party starts at Loma Park, so be there in the early evening if you don't want to miss a second of the action.
This is a fun, family-friendly event with an array of entertainment on offer and a great chance to party with the locals. So if you're turning up on your 1997 Honda Wave and haven't figured out how to silence that squeak, it's probably best to park around the corner.
- Get there: Drive south from Phuket International Airport to Patong Beach on the east of the island. It'll take just over an hour.
- Stay: Find somewhere to stay in Phuket's Kathu District, near to Patong Beach if possible.
*We do our very best to verify the dates of our events but please check with the official event provider before booking your flights. We would hate for you to be disappointed!
