With an impressive line up of shorts, feature length films, documentaries and more, Dubai International Film Festival is now firmly established on the cinema circuit.
Think you Cannes name the world's best film festivals? While many people have heard of the likes of Sundance not many film-buffs are aware of Dubai's International Film Festival. If you haven't heard about it, now is the time to brush up; it was recently listed in Condé Nast Traveler Magazine as one of world's top 15 film festivals.
Primarily held at the Madinat Jumeirah, the event sees thousands of film-goers, directors, producers, actors and writers attend - you're also likely to spot a few A-listers. Previous years have hosted over 130 feature films from some 60 countries - this year is set to be bigger than ever. Covering a range of nationalities, including plenty of work from Arab film-makers, this annual event is a great chance to watch established and emerging talent. There are plenty of chances to watch your favourite genre, which include shorts, animation and feature length documentaries that are all held in a range of venues across the city.
So while it might not yet be as huge as some of the traditional greats of the film world, Dubai International Film Festival is fast becoming a must on the cinema circuit. Just leave the puns behind if you come face-to-face with a Hollywood A-lister, okay?
