The Fierce Festival will burst back to life this October with its distinctive programme of live art, performance and cultural projects across Birmingham.
- When? 20th - 21st October 2017
- Where? Various venues throughout Birmingham
- Price: varies, see official website for further details
Each year this lively festival enlists the talents of local, national and international artists to challenge expectations and presumptions, all culminating in a stirring celebration of art and culture.
Running since 1998, the festival is a firm favourite on the city’s events calendar, and a real treat for any art enthusiast. ‘Collision’ is a key theme for the event with a fusion of different genres of expression apparent throughout the packed roster - embracing theatre, dance, music, installations, activism, and digital practices.
One of the best parts of this festival is the scale with which it captures the city, commandeering many off-the-beaten-track venues, as well as the big museums and galleries. Performances in car parks, famous clubs, and even an old metal factory sweep the city for four days in October. But don’t worry if it’s a more traditional experience you seek, as some incredible performances and exhibits are to be hosted in the city’s established art centres, Birmingham Museum and Symphony Hall.
With such an array of great events on offer, this eclectic and exciting festival provides the perfect setting to embrace your fierce side.
