Head to Birmingham for the first weekend in September for the Moseley Folk Festival, three days of folk and acoustic music from both international artists and unsigned talent.
- When? 1st - 3rd September 2017
- Where? Moseley Park, Birmingham
- Price: visit the official website for the full list of ticket prices.
Don't expect a wild atmosphere here, the Moseley Folk Festival is more laid-back than an Amsterdam coffee shop. This super chilled music festival has been running for over ten years, welcoming people of all ages to beautiful Moseley Park for a weekend of folk and acoustic music (and hopefully good weather).
At just under £100 for a weekend ticket entry doesn't come cheap, although day passes are available. However the great atmosphere and talented line up, makes the event pretty good value for money; this year will see a variety of bands and artists including the likes of The Coral, The Proclaimers and Billy Bragg, as well as a highly anticipated special guest who is yet to be named.
Visitors tend to bring chairs, blankets and a picnic to the 11-acre woodland and head up to the bars for a few drinks (bringing your own alcohol or glassware is not permitted). The event's idyllic location provides an ideal setting for the festival, which creates a relaxed vibe throughout the park. Moseley village's pubs also provide entertainment in line with the festivities, so you can have a serious pub chillax after catching a band.
- Get there: Take the No.50 bus from the city centre to Moseley Park.
- Stay: Find a hotel in the city centre so you have plenty of restaurants, bars and shops to enjoy.
