Dig out the rainbow hued shirts; Bourne Free Pride Festival is heading for the south coast in July.

- Where? Bournemouth
- Price: The parade is free, but entry to the Triangle on the Saturday usually has a fee.
If you happen to be in Bournemouth when Bourne Free Pride Festival comes to town, don't hope for a quiet stay. This is a weekend full of fun, colour and entertainment.
Pride comes to the south coast of England every July for Bourne Free, a huge celebration of all diversities living in and around Bournemouth. The extremely popular event has been running for over 10 years and draws thousands of people who come to experience the fun, festive atmosphere.
No doubt the star attraction across the weekend is the extravagant parade featuring colourful floats, music and dancing which makes its way to the Triangle. Here you'll find a stage where a surprising combination of talented and well-known acts and artists perform, whereas the Lower Gardens Bandstand features some excellent family-friendly entertainment. However, it's worth noting that guests are usually required to purchase a ticket on arrival at the Triangle on the Saturday.
Each year has a different theme, 'Rio Carnival' was the theme of 2016 - look out for this if you're one to go all out on the costume front. We're expecting nothing less than glitter, feathers and rainbow hues.
- Get there: Local buses provide the easiest way of getting around.
- Stay: Book accommodation in the city centre, though avoid the parade route if possible - it will get busy.
