Say hello to the biggest carnival in Europe - a million people dancing, drinking and smoking their way through the streets of Ladbroke Grove.
- When? 26 – 28 August 2017
- Where? Ladbroke Grove, London, England.
- Price: Free
Since its debut in 1966, the Notting Hill Carnival has become a permanent mainstay of the London event calendar. Millions of revellers flock to West London to drink, dance to calypso music and chow down on jerk chicken every August Bank Holiday. It's like a raucous full stop on the summer.
If you are thinking of coming, make sure you plan ahead and are prepared - the streets and Tube stations are gridlocked, the toilets are never there when you need them and the likelihood of meeting someone at a particular time and place is incomprehensible. But if the sun shines, and the vibe is contagious, you might just enjoy the most glorious weekend you can have in London.
Come down and celebrate the very best of Caribbean culture. Just don’t stand too close to the sound systems, you’ll be deaf for a week.
- Get there: We suggest walking from a nearby tube station, but be aware that many will close to prevent overcrowding.
- Stay: Stay near Ladbroke Grove, which is nearby and well-connected to the rest of the city.
*We do our very best to verify the dates of our events but please check with the official event provider before booking your flights. We would hate for you to be disappointed!
