Each year thousands visit Manchester's gay village Canal Street each year to celebrate Pride. What started off as a couple of Tombola stalls has evolved into one of the biggest LGBT festivals in Europe.
Manchester Pride is a weekend packed with music, drinking and stand-up make this one of the events of the year in Manchester. There's a 'Pride Fringe' featuring a series of art, music and cultural events all over the city, including poetry readings, quizzes and film showings, culminating in "The Big Weekend", a 72-hour party during the August bank holiday weekend in Canal Street and the surrounding area, with a parade through the streets of Manchester.
No matter what your sexuality, there’s fun to be had by all at Manchester Pride.
