Ditch the diet and head to Atlanta instead - the city's annual food festival sounds far more fun that calorie-counting.
- When? 1 - 4 June 2017
- Where? Midtown Atlanta
- Price: Tickets for individual events vary in price - weekend passes are $370.
If you cheat on your diet in a different postcode it doesn't count right? Here's hoping, because if you plan your Atlanta break to coincide with the city's annual food festival you're going to struggle to keep up the good work.
Held annually, this foodie fest is a chance for Atlanta's hundreds of excellent eateries to showcase their many talents. Dishes and cuisines are varied, from southern favourites (barbecued ribs, corn and fresh crab) to African-inspired curries. Most of the vendors have their own street food trucks, so you can wander between the different cuisines and let your nose decide where to dine. There'll also be a range of entertainment on offer, from live bands to dance performances.
We're not saying you should go behind your diet's back but we do think Atlanta's Food Festival should be an exception to the no-cheating rule and besides, food and travel are pretty much made for each other. We won't tell if you don't.
- Get there: Take the subway to the Midtown Transit Station and then catch the number 12 bus to the venue.
