Dust off those crayons and brush up your brushstrokes - America's largest free arts festival has something for everyone. From visual art exhibitions and art cars to photography and live concerts plus a huge variety of performing arts, there are lots of new things to explore. There's also the chance to get involved with hands-on projects, demonstrations and competitions as well as a huge menu of food and drink on offer to festivalgoers.
With over 150 fine artists, fashion designers and crafts people, each brings something unique to the event. 2016s ArtScape was themed around space, so we can't wait to see what's in store for 2017.
The festival is held all over Baltimore, with much of the festival outside in tents, or inside the neighbourhood's exhibition spaces and performing arts venues. Despite its multiple locations, the festival is easy to get to and walk around. Alternatively, you could use the metro if you're feeling lazy.
With so much to see and even more to take part in, all absolutely free, the organisers definitely seem to have got this one down to a fine art.
- Get there: Whilst there are a few festival venues, the Lyric is at the centre of the festivities. The closest subway is Pennsylvania Station, or Cultural Center Northbound for the light rail.
- Stay: Book accommodation in the Bolton Hill or Mount Vernon areas Downtown to be nearby.
