Forget puffing away at the gym to get 'beach body ready' (pah!), we can think of a far more rewarding way to spend our pre-summer time. You're in for a culinary treat on your next trip to Cape Cod - Restaurant Week returns for seven days of budget friendly feasting, tastings and excellent local fare.
#travioortip: Restaurant week runs in both spring and autumn, so if you can't make one event, stay tuned for the other.
The concept is simple; dozens of restaurants - from Provincetown to Falmouth - participate by offering fixed-price (discounted) set menus, all of which showcase the Cape's excellent foodie heritage. Known for its abundance of fish based plates, expect banquets of oysters, clams, lobster and more. Serving up mouth-watering artisan creations alongside local favourites, this fest is well worth ditching the diet to experience the region's cuisine at its very best. Resident and visiting chefs whip up a range of gourmet delights which are offered alongside finely paired wines and side plates.
You can buy one off or multi-pass deals for the event with many restaurants throwing in yummy extras to sweeten the deal. With people flocking from far and wide to this popular seaside area, there's also a friendly party atmosphere at most of the eateries too. Now that sounds like our kind of workout (better than a spin class anyway).
- Get there: Participating restaurants are announced in April, but 2016's were all over the peninsula. We suggest taking a taxi or renting a car for travelling to individual restaurants.
- Stay: Choose your accommodation based on other activities in the area unless you have your eye on a particular restaurant.

*We do our very best to verify the dates of our events but please check with the official event provider before booking your flights. We would hate for you to be disappointed!
