Your taste buds won't want to miss one of the world's biggest outdoor food festivals, known simply as Taste of Chicago.
- When? 5th - 9th July 2017
- Where? Grant Park, Chicago
- Price: Free admission
Foodie or not, you'll want a 'pizza' this festival if you're visiting in July. Taste of Chicago takes all of the city's most amazing local staples, as well as specialty cuisines from ethnic neighbourhoods, and puts them all in one place for a sensational culinary extravaganza.
Running for over 35 years, Taste of Chicago is one of the city's largest and most popular events. Given Chicago is so big, making your way around all of the city's eateries, restaurants and cuisine can be challenging to say the least but this festival gives you the chance to experience it all at once.
Top class chefs come from across the city to serve some outstanding food to thousands of visitors, and are joined by talented musicians and performers who provide some excellent entertainment to create a joyful, buzzing atmosphere.
Spread across five days, you have the chance to witness culinary experts during cooking demos, try some of the tastiest food samples you're likely to find at an American food festival and enjoy some great performances all at the beautiful Grant Park. From deep-dish pizza to Chicago-style hot-dogs, you can eat to your heart's content.
Your not having a 'pizza' our pizza though. You can get your own.
- Get there: Grant Park is near the Millenium train station and the Randolph/Wabash and Lake metro stops so use public transport for easy access to the festival.
- Stay: River North and the Magnificent Mile have plenty to see and do in Chicago, so stay there for a short trip to the festival.
*We do our very best to verify the dates of our events but please check with the official event provider before booking your flights. We would hate for you to be disappointed!
