If you're heading to Vegas for the Electric Daisy Carnival festival in June, you're in for a shock; this annual electronic music festival, known simply as EDC, will surpass your expectations with the planet's best acts and state-of-the-art systems offering electrifying entertainment.
Taking place at the Vegas Motor Speedway since 2011, usually every third weekend in June, EDC offers a variety of areas, stages and spaces across the huge festival grounds. Neon lights, world-class technology and some of the biggest names in the business all combine to provide a fascinating spectacle at this Insomniac produced event.
Almost every big-name electronic music DJ and artist you can think of will have performed here in previous years including the likes of Duke Dumont, Tiesto and Afrojack, so you'll never be disappointed with the star-studded line-up. You can also expect fair-ground rides, diverse art and an array of performers from dazzling dancers to spectacular stilters, all offering some variety to proceedings.
EDC now features throughout the US and even across Europe in various cities, but the flagship festival has always been in Vegas and should be on the list of every hardcore festival-goer. However, the sticking point for some may be the price, with a general admission ticket for the three days usually priced at almost £300 in total. And once you've decided you want a ticket, the next problem is getting one before they sell out.
What did you expect? This is Vegas baby. And if you still think the price is shocking, pay a visit to EDC next June and try telling us it wasn't worth every penny.
