There's no better place to experience Halloween than at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights.

  • When? 15 September - 4 November 2017
  • Where? Universal Studios, Orlando
  • Price: $69.99 Sunday - Friday Flex Ticket. Packages available.

For those dreaming of a magical holiday in Orlando, head for Universal Studios leading up to Halloween and you could be greeted with a nightmare. On select nights in September and October, the streets of this spectacular theme park turn spooktacular and come to life with terrifying special effects, actors and costumes, scaring the life out of visitors.

Dubbed 'the nation's premier Halloween event' one minute you'll be casually strolling along minding your own business and the next you'll be screaming with fear as mutants, monsters and maniacs spring out of nowhere. Explore haunted houses that are on a different level to the ones we've all visited at local theme parks and fairs, feel your heart beat out of your chest as you scatter through multiple scare zones and watch nerve-wracking live shows filled with horror and gore. Universal's rides and attractions will also include an element of horror; Halloween Horror Nights aren't for the faint-hearted. Areas to explore include The Walking Dead, The Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and American Horror Story.

There are both night and night plus hotel passes available and you'll need to pre-book online before you go. For something a little extra, try the R.I.P behind the scenes guided Halloween Horror Nights tour for 'the-making-of' insights and a knowledgeable guide.

Welcome to the best worst nightmare you're likely to have.

  • Get there: Drive or take a taxi from Orlando International Airport.
  • Stay: There are plenty of places to stay near the park, but remember to book early to ensure accommodation will still be available.
