Where better to celebrate 'the most wonderful time of the year' than Walt Disney World in Orlando? Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party is the perfect event to get you in the festive spirit.
Once upon a time, in a land far far away, well Orlando to be specific, there lived a mouse by the name of Mickey. You know the rest right?
Get your Christmas on at the happiest place on earth this winter; Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Whether you’re a 40-year-old woman or an 8-year-old child, Disney is the top destination to get you into the Christmas spirit. Join in the festivities at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas for six weeks of fun where you can meet your favourite characters, sing carols and visit Santa Claus.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is central to the celebrations and sees characters take to the streets to greet visitors, sing carols and spread Christmas cheer. Giant gingerbread houses float through the streets as Donald and Daisy Duck wave from the doorstep, oversized rocking horses glide past dancing elves, life sized toy soldiers march beside the crowds and Cinderella and her prince can be seen waving from their horse drawn carriage. Of course Mickey and Minnie lead it all, waving and dancing around a Christmas tree. For the grand finale there’s the iconic firework display which illuminates the Magical Kingdom castle. Sounds like a fairytale doesn’t it? Be sure to stand at the end of Main Street to capture the castle in your parade photos.
Since Christmas is a time to go all out why not book the ‘Wishes Fireworks Holiday Dessert Party’ where you’ll have your very own spot reserved on Main Street, U.S.A. for prime parade viewing, followed by a private dessert party. Marvel at the amazing fireworks display as you munch on holiday-themed cupcakes, ice cream and freshly prepared sweet pastries washed down with hot chocolate or something a little stronger for the adults (the sparkling cider is a must). This extra treat will cost you around $79 for adults and $49 for children (without tax) but if you’re a family of sweet addicts it’s worth the extra money.
If you decide to stick with the Christmas Party ticket only, which at almost a hundred dollars each is definitely a Christmas ‘treat’ in itself, you’ll still be able to enjoy a range of other activities before the grand parade and fireworks finale. Play in the snow along Main Street, join in at the ‘Character Dance Parties’ and enjoy free cookies and hot cocoa throughout the event. You’ll have the catchy tunes of the ‘Voice Play’ acapella group in your head all night after watching the ‘Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show’. ‘Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration Stage Show’ was a new addition in 2016 which saw Mickey Mouse host a Christmas party, inviting fellow characters and visitors to the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage to sing carols and enjoy magical projections. Entry is usually granted into the work at around 4 p.m. so guests can enjoy the other rides beforehand and capture the full Magic Kingdom experience.
For a 'happily ever after' experience this festive season, join in the merriment at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - after all, no one does Christmas quite like Disney. Add the star to the top of your Christmas tree by staying in the park at one of the many themed hotels or nearby in Orlando.
