We hope you're hungry; this food truck extravaganza comes to Scottsdale just outside Phoenix at the end of winter and everyone's invited.
- When? TBC February 2018
- Where? Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Scottsdale
- Price: General admission $12, VIP $60
Expect a buzz in the city of Phoenix when meals on wheels roll on into Scottsdale for the Street Eats Food Truck Festival. It can be reached in 30 minutes by car from Arizona's capital and attracts a huge crowd year after year who come to sample some of the best food in Arizona.
The trucks head for Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, usually around the end of January or start of February for a weekend. Dozens of the best food trucks in the state provide all-American eats including: pizza, fried meats, burgers, pretzels, barbecues, fish and doughnuts. There's also cooking demonstrations and eating contests so be prepared to get involved and rise up to the challenge. If there's one thing Americans know about, it's hearty food.
Entry fees are nominal, while VIP tickets are pricey and only gain you access to a lounge. The two dollar sample items are a great way of working your way round all the trucks without filling up. If it wasn't already enough that there are meals on wheels, now they're giving us deals on wheels too. What more could you want?
Buckle up your seat belt, loosen off your trouser belt and pig out on your next trip to Phoenix. Keep on truckin'.
- Get there: There is free parking included in the ticket price, so we recommend renting a car - especially if you're coming from Phoenix.
- Stay: The event is partnered with certain hotels in the area, but these will book up fast. Get in early if you're hoping to take advantage.
