The Sedona Marathon

3 Feb 2018

Motivating yourself to run 26 miles can be hard at the best at times but with the stunning view of untouched red-rock valleys and canyons, Sedona is guaranteed to make the whole process a lot easier.

Want to add 'world's most picturesque marathon' to your athletic accomplishments?

Visit Sedona in February to attend the annual marathon that runs through the Coconino National Forest District and onto the streets of Sedona with the backdrop of the wondrous red-rock formations that the area is famous for.

The marathon is designed for athletes of all abilities with the option to run 5k, 10k, a half or full marathon. There is also the chance for kids to get involved with their very own 5k or 10k under-12 youth races.

The full marathon is not for the faint-hearted with high-elevation, steep hills and dirt road tracks challenging even the most seasoned of runners. Do your research before you decide to enter.

With free training runs, massage tents and an all-you-can-eat pasta dinner to fuel up the night before, Sedona sure know how to look after their champions. Now where did we put our running shoes?

  • Get there: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is the closest international airport. It's just over 2 hours to Sedona.
  • Stay: Find a cosy lodge close to the mountains for the full Sedona experience.

*We do our very best to verify the dates of our events but please check with the official event provider before booking your flights. We would hate for you to be disappointed!
